What is political?

A social enterprise is dedicated to making politics in Israel more accessible and fostering a values-based political discourse.

This is achieved through the development of a platform designed to provide the public with political information in a manner that is reliable, objective, and easily accessible.

The project maintains a stance of political neutrality and operates on a not-for-profit basis.

The problem

We have identified a significant gap in the availability of objective, reliable, and accessible sources of information.

Such sources are crucial as they help individuals form informed worldviews on various issues that impact our lives.

Currently, our main channels of information consumption include:

1. Television channels, which often lack objectivity.
2. Social networks, which are frequently unreliable.

Furthermore, the algorithms governing social networks are designed to show users content that aligns with their existing opinions.

This echo chamber effect contributes to the central issue of societal polarization and hatred.

In today's world, the need for objective, reliable, and easily accessible political information is increasingly critical.

The absence of trustworthy information sources not only leads to a general mistrust among citizens but also exacerbates the problems of polarization and societal hatred.

The solution

We have developed a website that serves as a platform for citizens to access political information, guided by three core values:

Objectivity: Our unique writing methodology combines a blend of consensus-driven perspectives and a variety of viewpoints.

This approach ensures that the information presented is balanced and unbiased.

Accessibility: Significant effort has been invested in designing a user-friendly experience. We prioritize making the content easy to navigate and understand, ensuring that all citizens, regardless of their background or expertise, can benefit from our platform.

Reliability: We actively involve users in improving the objectivity of our content. This is achieved through a feature called "The Information is Not Objective,"

which users can select when they feel the content they have read is not objective.

After selecting this option, they are prompted to explain their perspective, enabling us to review and adjust our content in line with their feedback.

This iterative process helps in continuously refining the accuracy of the information we provide and builds user trust in our platform.

Our goal is to ensure that every citizen in the State of Israel has access to the necessary information to form opinions based on real data,

as opposed to fake news or partial information.

By offering a trustworthy and accessible source of political information, we aspire to empower individuals to make informed decisions

and participate more effectively in the democratic process.

Research

Several studies have been carried out to assess the landscape of available political information sources.

Since there are no direct competitors in our specific niche, our analysis included indirect competitors as well.

We reviewed the offerings of our competitors: "N12", "Beit Hamechokkim", and the Instagram page "Metachat Laradar".

Additionally, we distributed questionnaires to people to determine their level of trust in the sources from which they currently obtain political information.

Main conclusions

The conclusion drawn from examining our competitors' products is that the majority of information is presented in the form of articles, with limited diversity

in the mode of content presentation.

Insights from the questionnaire revealed that most respondents require information on political matters at least once a day, yet they often distrust the sources from which this information is sourced.

Additionally, a significant number of respondents expressed a feeling of being under-informed about the desired changes in the context of the legal revolution and find it challenging to stay updated with the ongoing progress of these changes.

The arena

This feature provides information about the laws that the government intends to pass, which are currently the subject of public discussion.

It includes an explanation of each proposed law, along with arguments for and against it.

The aim is to enable users to understand the contents of the law objectively and to comprehend the reasoning behind both supporting

and opposing viewpoints.

This can assist users in forming their own opinions, or if they already have a stance, they can explore explanations of the opposing viewpoint.

After selecting the "The arena" tab on the main screen, you are directed to this page.

This screen aggregates all the laws, with the most popular ones featured at the top, identified by a fire symbol.

The heart symbol indicates the number of people who have expressed that they learned something new about the law.

This is the screen that appears when you click on one of the laws. The screen is divided into two parts:
1. The content of the law.
2. Opinions for and against the law. In the opinions section, an animated figure represents

each viewpoint.

The figure changes randomly to prevent stereotyping of opinions.

When you click on "Read More" under the explanation of the law,

this popup window opens:

This is what the "Information is Not Objective" button looks like.

If a user feels that the information is not objective, they can click on this button and explain why they feel this way.
